Different brands have different variations/ classes of Football Cleats. In this article we're going to mainly discuss about adidas, Nike & Puma.
Now firstly let's dive into adidas.
adidas
This brand makes 5 different levels of football cleats, so you have a wide variety of choice when buying. Different technology and material is used. To identify the edition adidas uses firstly the name of the cleats edition (e.g Predator or Ghosted) followed by either the plus sign or a decimal and a number; the plus sign or the number after the decimal tells us about the variation. The amazing thing about adidas is that it offers two "Elite" variations and other as well, which we're going to discuss below:
adidas "+" Football Cleats:
These are the brands most expensive football cleats but they have shared status with the ".1" variation. The "+" tells us that the cleats are a laceless version of the top level shoes. These are mostly worn by professionals although some go for the ".1" version.
adidas ".1" Football Cleats:
These are also brands highest level football shoes. The only thing that is different between the "+" and the ".1" variation is that the ".1" cleats comes with laces. The laceless variation is most expensive as their production is costly.
adidas ".2" Football Cleats:
These cleats come with laces. They're not as much light weighted as the "+" or ".1". These usually have a breathable knit fitting.
adidas ".3" Football Cleats:
These come in two different variations. You have an option to choose in between .3 laced or .3 laceless. These are designed to offer players a feel of laceless at a much cheaper price point.
adidas ".4" Football Cleats:
These are brands most affordable cleats. These are a little heavier than the other ones as the material used is a bit cheaper.
Nike
This brand offers 4 different variations to choose from. The technology and material varies. So, we're going to start from the top level cleats to the cheaper ones.
Nike Elite Football Cleats:
These are the Nike's highest level football cleats. These are the brands most expensive football cleats and are worn by the professional players. Most innovative and top level technology and material is used to produce them.
Nike Pro Football Cleats:
These are the second level of the football cleats that Nike makes. These are typically half the price of the "elite" one's. They share the same level of technology as compared to the elite cleats but they will have some features which are made of less expensive material although there execution is still of very high standard.
Nike Academy Football Cleats:
This is the 3rd level of football cleats variation that Nike has to offer. These are cheaper than the "Pro" variation. Basic technology and material is used for this variation.
Nike Club Football Cleats:
This is brands 4th variation of football cleats. These are Nike's cheapest football cleats in the market. Nike being a giant in this industry has perfected his design to such an extent that the club level and the "elite" ones looks exactly similar from a distance. To offer this variation at such a low price Nike has to use very basic version of technology and material.
Puma
Thing might get a bit confusing now so stick with us as we explain the different variations. The decimal system is also used by Puma. Compared to adidas, Puma reverses their decimals. To identify the model firstly Puma gives us a number which tells us about the variation and after the decimal it tell us about the cleats edition. The "+" isn't used by Puma to identify their elite edition. Puma like Nike also offers 4 different cleats variations, which we're going to discuss below:
Puma "1.X" Football Cleats:
These are the brands most expensive top level cleats. They come with the highest quality Puma has to offer. They're for the highly competitive and are worn by the professionals. Premium technology and material is used in their production.
Puma "2.X" Football Cleats:
These are pretty similar to the top level cleats just the material used in their production is a bit different. They're almost half the price of the brands elite cleats. These even though are less expensive still offer high performance and are light weight.
Puma "3.X" Football Cleats:
These are for semi-competitive players who are looking for an affordable option. Lower quality technology and material is used but they're far less expensive as well.
Puma "4.X" Football Cleats:
These are the brands cheapest cleats. They may be the most affordable but are the heaviest. The technology and material used is very basic. These are mainly for those who just started.
We hope after going through all this you now know whats best for you.
